The first day of school will be a safe one, says Lake Brantley High principal Brian Blasewitz after a threatening social media post by a former student was dealt with by law enforcement, according to a report by WESH.
“Last night we were made aware of a social media post by one of our former students that was threatening in nature,” Blasewitz wrote in a memo to parents. “Law enforcement immediately addressed it and at this time, there is no current credible threat to Lake Brantley.”
School officials urged students to approach faculty if they come across any suspicious or threatening behavior, WESH reported.
“We are confident that this is going to be a great school year, our 47th in school history, and we look forward to kick it off [Monday,]” Blasewitz said.
