An Orlando police officer who is suing the department for gender and disability discrimination could be fired today, as her application for disability retirement awaits a decision. In a Wednesday memo to Officer Elizabeth Waba-Daniels, Deputy Chief Eric Smith said she surpassed the amount of time an officer is allowed to work limited duties under OPD policy and her pension application has been pending longer than the agency’s contract with its union allows.
